A client asked us to support in managing their IDS tasks after realizing that they had been paying RCE almost 35% of their US patent applications.
The issue was that their paralegal team used an excel spreadsheet to manage references and prepare the IDS manually. This was leading to missed citations during IDS filing.
Problem
Based on the client’s requirements, our team first devised a strategy on how to manage IDS effectively and reduce the IP workload. Thereafter, the team used an IDS management tool including the relevant foreign patent and non-patent references
Results
In addition to an efficiency gain of 70%, this also helped the client keep track of the IDS filing deadlines and save RCE filings. The client expects a yearly saving of $10K on RCE costs.
